Hi! I'm Erin. Thanks for coming to my corner of the internet.
My family will tell you I've always had a passion for design. From a young age I would constantly rearrange my bedroom furniture and beg my parents to let me repaint my room (or any room in the house). I've always had a curious mind, and my love of problem solving ultimately led me to pursue an engineering degree from Missouri S&T, after which I held a successful 10 year career as a software engineer at Boeing.
Along the way, my friends and family would often come to me asking for help with their home design and interior styling, and I was always thrilled at the chance to help! Interior design became my number one hobby and the creative escape I needed from my corporate job. I got the chance to renovate my first home in 2015 and that completely solidified my passion for interiors and greatly broadened my DIY skills. I've gotten pretty handy if I do say so myself.
After a turbulent few years in my personal life, I've decided it's time for a big change, and thus my passion project 'Home By Erin' was born.
I currently live in the Southampton neighborhood of St. Louis City with my typical 'Orange Cat' Louie. In my free time I love to read, thrift shop, try new restaurants, and go Zumba my butt off at the YMCA.
"Erin took the time to learn our style and incorporated that into the design for each room of our house. She also suggested design elements that were sometimes out of my comfort zone and were things I never would have thought to try, from light fixtures to furniture layout to paint colors. Her creativity and unique vision elevated each room to a level of design I never knew was possible. She also came up with creative and outside-the-box solutions to stay within our budget and our timeline while still completely transforming each room. Erin helped with actually executing the projects to make her design. She is a jack of all trades - she helped with so many different projects: building an entire entertainment center wall, replacing the vanity countertop and sinks in our primary bathroom, extensive drywall repair throughout the house, putting up custom board and batten on the nursery walls. Erin is not satisfied unless the design and execution are perfect. We would still be lost on where to start on house projects without Erin!"

"I had such a great experience working with Erin! She was incredibly easy to work with—friendly, professional, and really attentive to my tastes and budget from the very beginning. I had a small and somewhat tricky basement space to work with, and she managed to make it feel both warm and functional without any awkward spaces. I also appreciated how thoughtfully she incorporated some of my existing pieces, so we didn't have to completely start from scratch. The end result is even better than I could imagine and totally within budget. I would highly recommend her services!"
